We had a great time during Grandma’s recent trip to California. She got to spend some quality time with her new grandson and we all got to visit Noni, visit my friends, and even take a trip down to Newport Beach.

Ethan’s First Thanksgiving
Once again, Ethan was the star of the show. Everyone loved seeing him this Thanksgiving. Everyone wanted to hold him, everyone wanted pictures, everyone laughed. I have so much to be thankful for this year. I love that I get to spend the holiday with my mom’s side of the family again. I’m so grateful Continue reading
Peanut’s First Halloween
Ethan’s first Halloween started out with an office party at Arup. All the kids were so cute. The big kids were great too! I love that everyone is so festive. Pete and Leslie won for the best costume and they deserve to win – their Flinstone family costumes were awesome! We ended up taking Ethan Continue reading
Scottsdale Road Trip
October 17 – 24, 2009 we took our first family road trip together. Brian had a conference in Scottsdale so Ethan and I tagged along so we could spend a week together relaxing and hanging out at the pool. We had a lot of firsts during this trip. We brought along Morton, our stuffed animal Continue reading
Ethan’s First LA County Fair
Brian and I decided to take Ethan to the LA County Fair this year. We figure he’s too young to remember but it would be memorable for us, it was a beautiful day to be outside, and it only cost $1 per person to get in on October 4th (the day we went). We had Continue reading
Quality Time

Knott’s Berry Farm
The Arup Los Angeles office had its annual summer picnic at Knott’s Berry Farm this year so Ethan got to meet Snoopy for the very first time today! I think Ethan is already discovering that there are some definite perks to living in Southern California. Brian and I started the day by introducing Ethan to Continue reading
Happy Father’s Day, Daddy
Our doctor advised us to make sure that Ethan was 100% comfortable breastfeeding before we attempted to give him a bottle. He advised us not to start until at least 4 weeks had passed. So, when we felt the time was right we gave it a shot. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect day than Continue reading
Ethan’s First Visit With His Great-Grandparents
Here are some pictures from Ethan’s first trip to Indio to visit his great-grandparents (Noni & Papa)!
Baby Showers
Boy (ha ha – pun intended), Baby McLaughlin is so lucky to be surrounded by so many loving family members and friends. He’s not even here yet and we received so many wonderful things from not one but two baby showers held in his honor – one in Boston and one in Los Angeles. Thank Continue reading
