This year Brian and I took a trip out to Carlsbad for a week of relaxation at our timeshare condo in Carlsbad, CA. It was a much needed vacation especially since I just found out I was pregnant and was exhausted from being in my first trimester. We spent time touring the San Diego area, Continue reading

Ethan’s First Trip To Disneyland
Thanks to Brian’s parents, Ethan made his first trip to Disneyland in August 2010. The five of us headed out for a fun, and exhausting, day in Anaheim, CA. It was a warm day we will not soon forget.
Ethan’s 1st Birthday
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. It was in the low-70’s, slight breeze, sunny and beautiful for Ethan’s 1st birthday party. We were lucky enough to be joined by grandparents and great-grandparents from both sides of the family and lots of friends. Ethan had a great time playing with Lucas, Esperanza, and Continue reading
Birthday Weekend
I had a great birthday weekend in Santa Barbara with the family. Lunch at Dargan’s was a highlight as well as Ethan’s first ice cream cone with mom. Nothing like Thrifty’s ice cream to start off with.
Mother’s Day Weekend
This was my first official Mother’s Day. Last year I was pregnant but Lil’ Peanut just didn’t arrive in time. This year, at nearly a year old, we celebrated together. Daddy planned a wonderful day for us at the Los Angeles Zoo on Saturday. We attended a special Mama Mia presentation focusing about various species Continue reading
First Professional Haircut
With just a week to Ethan’s first birthday we thought it was about time he got a real professional haircut – unlike the hack jobs mommy and daddy had been giving him. So I did my research and found a cute little place in Arcadia called The Yellow Balloon. The gentlemen that cut Ethan’s hair Continue reading
Boston & New York
In April Brian, Ethan and I packed up and headed to Boston to visit Grandma and Grandpa for a few days and then headed to New York. This was Ethan’s first plane ride and he was great. We flew to Boston, stayed for a few days, then rented a car and drove to New York Continue reading
Ethan’s First Easter
My family doesn’t usually get together for Easter but with a new baby in the family it seemed like a really good excuse to do it. Ethan was literally the star of the show. Everyone loved watching him explorer and loved his little “crab crawl”. He brought so much joy to everyone and I am Continue reading
Grandma’s 90th
On April 7th my maternal grandmother will turn 90. Today, Easter, we are celebrating this milestone at her house. She has outlived my grandfather, her husband of over 60 years, and my mother, who died in 2003 at the age of 54. She raised nine children with my grandfather. My grandma is the glue that Continue reading
Birds of a Feather
One morning, while getting ready for work, Brian and I heard a “knock” at the front door. It wasn’t a normal knock though. It was more like a constant pecking. So, of course, we went down to see who was at the door. No one. Hmm. Soon the “knocking” started up again. So, this time Continue reading
