Hawai’i 2015 – Day 6

Ah day six. I can’t believe I’m typing a day six post already. Time sure flies when you’re on vacation. Day six was a day of relaxation. For me, it was mostly because my ankle needed a rest. Although it was much less swollen when I woke up it was still very, very sore. So, I decided a day of lounging by the pool would probably be best for me. Also, the kids (and I do mean all three of them) have grown very fond of the pool. The pool at King’s Land is awesome. There are three different water slides at the family pool. The adult pool is a little further away and is a good place for the people without kids that don’t want to be bothered. For the kids, they are free to laugh, scream and play as much as they want without bothering anyone that wants a relaxing kid-free vacation. It’s perfect.  The family pool actually has three different pools that are interconnected by walkways. One pool is only about a foot deep and has a Bellagio-style water fountain for the kids to play in as well as a sand beach. Another pool has a volleyball net and basketball hoop and is about 3.5 feet deep. The main pool features two waterfalls, steam, and is an outlet for the waterslides. We took advantage of all of these pools throughout our stay.

Before we left for Hawai’i the kids said they didn’t want to go. I think they didn’t know what to expect. Needless to say, all they wanted to do once we got here was hang out at the pool. They actually dreaded the days when we went sightseeing because they longed to play in the pools so much. They didn’t even want to go to the beach because “there’s no waterslide at the beach”. So, we decided to spend the majority of the day at the pool today so they could play and I could rest my ankle.

Arrived too late to get a front-row seat at the pool but it's not a bad view.

A few photos on the way to dinner of the Kona Coast.

For dinner, we got washed up and headed out to the Royal Kona Resort. Why, you ask? Brian has been planning a trip here for months because he has been dying to eat at Don The Beachcomber restaurant and bar. For those of you that don’t know this place is right on the water and has spectacular views. The food was pretty good too and the mai tais were awesome.
