Brian and I went to the USC Perinatal Women’s Diagnostics Center today for a FirstScreen test for Down syndrome and trisomy 18. Following the testing the doctor took the 3D ultra sound picture above. You can see our baby’s head at the top the picture. Our baby appears to be covering its eyes with its right arm (kinda like the way my dad sleeps!). During the ultra sound we could see the baby actively moving around (kicking its legs and waving its arms) and we could see and hear its heartbeat. The doctor also measured our baby’s length from butt to head and it is now 5.5 centimeters long – that’s 2 centimeters longer than last week! The doctor said that although our baby is large for its age, so far, all looks normal. We’ll get the final results of the tests with a week. Stay tuned!
