Today was Monterey Bay Aquarium Day! Everyone has been so excited for this day to come. We had to wait until today to go because we have tickets, through our Hampton Inn hotel, that give us two consecutive days for the price of one and we had the Tesla factory tour yesterday.

We were lucky enough to get one of the aquarium volunteers to take a family photo of us before we even went inside.

You all know that if I had things my way all you would see is otters. All of them. All day long. But, I narrowed this grouping down to my most favorite otter photos of the day. Trust me, this is not nearly a quarter of what I took.

Besides all of the marine life, one of my other favorite parts of the Monterey Bay Aquarium is all of the quotes throughout the buildings. Here are some of my faves:

After the aquarium closed we headed over to Cannery Row Brewing Company for a quick dinner before calling it a night. The food was actually pretty amazing. Brian, Violet and I shared a humongous pretzel with pub cheese to start with a couple of pints (no, Violet didn’t have one).

As you can see, we had a great day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Tomorrow we go on a boat tour with hopes of seeing humpback whales. They’ve been spotted from the aquarium deck all week and the tour company said they saw breaching whales too. <fingers grossed, hard>
