It’s been a few years since I first heard about the 626 Night Market and wanted to attend. There’s always one reason or another why I don’t attend – usually it’s jus too hot. Well, tonight I was finally able to check this off my bucket list.
It was a perfect night – not too hot and not chilly. And it’s 08/08 – lucky eights for us Asians! I really had no idea what to expect. When I got there all I could think is I should not have eaten that huge leftover plate of Crystal’s Special from Melanee Thai for lunch! There had to be a 100 food booths and food trucks there and I didn’t know how I could eat my way through the whole event.
This sign made me giggle right when I walked in and I immediately shared it with my #f00dclub buddies.
Upon arrival at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA I immediately spotted the Yelp booth. Even though I didn’t have the time to maintain my Yelp Elite status this year I was anxious to head over to the booth to say Hi to my local Yelp community manager, Katie B. Unfortunately, I just missed her. Sorry I missed you Katie! I did check in and got my free yelp reusable bag for doing so. All swag makes me happy. What can I say, I’m Asian and I like free stuff.
My family and I got there around 5:00 before the real crowd arrived so we had a chance to try things before the lines go to crazy. Here are a few things we sampled (not all):
All in all it was a great night. We could not have asked for a more beautiful evening.
We rolled ourselves out of there just before 9:00 and the kiddos were exhausted. We made it home with a friend for Peanut too:
Check that off the bucket list. Good night everyone.
